1. What was the reason for applying for internship at Optiweb?
Tjaša: My first contact with digital marketing happened while I was studying abroad. After taking a few courses, I found out that I wanted to know more about this field of marketing. My goal was to gain real experience and soon I came across the Let’s Boost internship ad. One of the key factors for my decision was a discussion I attended about entrepreneurship where CEO Miha was one of the speakers. That’s where I found out a lot about Optiweb, their culture, values and the business they do. I was sure I would acquire a lot of knowledge and skills, which would make me even more independent in digital marketing. My assumptions were soon confirmed and my training began at full speed.
Katja: During my studies, digital marketing courses and other related content quickly drew my attention and it also gave me an idea for my final thesis. I was aware that a job in digital marketing doesn’t only require knowledge but also practical skills and experience. Even though my faculty does not require a mandatory internship, I thought Let’s Boost would be a great way to train and learn on real projects. I had been following Optiweb on different social channels for quite some time then, so it was impossible to overlook their ad about the internship.
2. What is the first thing you think of when you hear »Let’s Boost«?
Katja: An Optiweb notebook bursting with useful tips and my head exploding with information. The best!
Tjaša: A shot of knowledge and experience! :)
3. How did the internship begin? What were your first impressions?
Katja: On the first day, we gathered in the common area, full of anticipation and a bit scared as we didn’t know what to expect. Looking back, I think we all seemed a bit frightened.
Urška introduced us to one another, which was followed by a warm welcome and introduction to the Let’s Boost team, different teams inside the company, team leads and other employees. Later on, our week was filled with workshops on soft skills training, which later turned out to be very useful.
The presentation of the internal processes was crucial for the introduction into our new work environment. Even though we later formed a part of different teams, we often worked together on various projects, which also led to us setting up and managing our own pro bono project.
